The Catholic Church in Sri Lanka has firmly denied recent allegations made by former President Maithripala Sirisena regarding the disbursement of funds intended for the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings.

According to Fr. Jude Krishantha, National Director of Catholic Mass Communications, the Church has already distributed Rs. 500 million to the victims through 'Seth Sarana,' the social service arm of the Sri Lankan Catholic Church.

"We conduct our charitable activities quietly, in line with Jesus' teaching that your left hand should not know what your right hand is doing. Therefore, we do not publicize our efforts," Fr. Krishantha stated.

Former President Sirisena had previously called on the Church to provide a detailed list of the victims who had received the funds.
