A woman has been arrested by Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) officers for allegedly defrauding victims of over Rs. 4 million under false promises of jobs in Qatar. The arrest was conducted by SLFEB's investigation department, and the suspect is currently detained at Gampola Police Station, scheduled to appear before the Gampola Magistrate’s Court today.
The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, stands accused of deceiving individuals with promises of lucrative employment opportunities in Qatar. SLFEB's investigation revealed that she managed to collect more than Rs. 4 million from multiple victims through fraudulent means.
Authorities acted swiftly following complaints filed against the suspect, leading to her arrest and subsequent detention at Gampola Police Station.
