The Galle Police has initiated a thorough investigation following a disturbing complaint alleging that a Jailor at the Galle Prison engaged a female inmate to assassinate a fellow female warden within the prison premises.
It was reported that a team of police officers visited the Galle prison to gather statements from five individuals, including the accused jailor and the targeted warden, concerning the grievous allegations.
According to the complaint filed by the warden, the jailor purportedly contracted a female inmate, who is serving time for multiple offenses, to carry out the sinister act within the confines of the Galle prison.
In response to the gravity of the allegations, the Prison Department has launched an independent inquiry into the matter to ascertain the veracity of the claims.
