Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, and Mannar districts during the afternoon or night.

Showers will occur in the western coastal areas during the morning too.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

  Condition of Rain:

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle in the evening or night.

Winds:

Winds will be South-westerly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.

Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar.

State of Sea:

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via can be fairly rough at times.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
