The Department of Posts has issued a warning to the public regarding a financial scam conducted through SMS messages related to local or foreign parcels.
Fraudsters are employing a deceptive tactic by using a fake website resembling that of the Postal Department, along with a counterfeit telephone number, to perpetrate this scam.
Sri Lanka Post emphasizes that it does not solicit bank card information through SMS. The department urges the public to exercise caution and avoid disclosing personal bank details in response to such fraudulent SMS messages.
