During the past 24 hours, there have been eight road accidents resulting in 10 fatalities across the country, Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said.
Of these incidents, five were attributed to vehicles skidding off the roads.
DIG Thalduwa said that many accidents stem from driver negligence. He urged drivers to exercise greater caution and comply with traffic regulations.
