State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon announced plans to launch a program aimed at providing preferential assistance to the families of war heroes across various sectors, including health, public administration, banking, and other services. This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Tri Forces, and the Ranaviru Seva Authority, underscores the government's commitment to supporting those who have sacrificed for the country.
The Minister also revealed the government's intention to prioritize war heroes and their families in the 'Urumaya' land deeds presentation program, offering them opportunities for land ownership.
"It is crucial that we prioritize the welfare of those who have given so much for our country," stated Minister Tennakoon during a program at the Regimental Centre of the Gajaba Regiment.
The Security Forces-Wanni (SF-Wanni) recently organized a program involving retired/medically retired servicemen and next of kin of deceased war heroes. The event aimed to assess their well-being and address any outstanding issues or administrative matters, reflecting the ongoing efforts to honor and support war heroes and their families.
During the gathering, the State Minister also praised the sacrifices of war heroes who lost their lives during the conflict, acknowledging their immense contributions to the nation.
