Assets worth over Rs. 100 million, including multi-day fishing craft, three-wheelers, motorcycles, and land plots, belonging to underworld figures have been seized by the police, according to reports.
The Illegal Assets and Properties Investigation Division of Sri Lanka Police confiscated these assets in Galle, Ambalangoda, and Ahungalla as part of the ongoing 'Yukthiya' operation, launched in December 2023 to combat drug peddling and organized crime.
The confiscated assets include:
1. ISUZU FREEZER truck valued at Rs. 6.5 million
2. HONDA DIO motorcycle worth Rs. 500,000
3. Dump truck with a value of Rs. 10 million
4. Another HONDA DIO motorcycle valued at Rs. 400,000
5. TOYOTA KDH estimated at Rs. 14 million
6. BAJAJ three-wheeler worth Rs. 1 million
7. Another BAJAJ three-wheeler valued at Rs. 700,000
8. IMUL-A-0983-GLE fishing vessel valued at Rs. 15 million
9. IMUL-A-0701KLT fishing vessel worth Rs. 11 million
10. IMUL-A-0810-GLE fishing vessel under production, with Rs. 5.2 million paid for production
11. Three houses, one storage room, and five land plots combined valued at Rs. 53 million
12. Two land plots with a total worth of Rs. 21 million
