Colombo Chief High Court Judge Damith Thotawatta dismissed defense objections and set trial dates for the case involving former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and another defendant.
The case centers on the alleged misuse of Rs. 230,000 from the State Printing Corporation to settle Rambukwella's personal mobile phone bill during his tenure as Minister of Mass Media.
The trial is scheduled to commence on July 22 as per the judge's order.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption brought charges against Rambukwella and the former Chairman of the State Printing Corporation, Jayampathi Bandara Heenkenda.
Former minister Keheliya Rambukwella, currently in remand custody, was brought to court by prison officials for today's proceedings.
