A group of suspects including a trsishaw driver and a hair dresser have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 14 year old school girl since 2020.
The 56 year old hair dresser popularly known as “ Podimama”, and a 47 year old trishaw driver from Gangaboda road in Malwatuoya area, popularly known as : “Chuta” were the main suspects.
Police said the 14 year old victim was a grade ten student of a school in Anuradhapura area and that she had been raped at times by the suspects.
She claimed that the main suspects had raped her and given her money and frighten her with bodily harm if she divulged his relations with her.
