Poultry farmers have announced a substantial increase in the retail price of chicken, ranging from Rs. 40 to Rs. 60 per kilogram, effective immediately.
This hike comes amidst rising production costs and other economic factors affecting the poultry industry.
As of today, the retail price of a kilogram of fresh chicken at the Narahenpita Economic Centre stands at Rs. 1,180. Additionally, skinless chicken is being sold at Rs. 1,120 per kilogram, while curry chicken commands a price of Rs. 1,200 per kilogram at the same center.
In Handapangoda, chicken sale centers are recording prices slightly higher than those in Narahenpita. Fresh chicken is being sold at Rs. 1,190 per kilogram, skinless chicken at Rs. 1,180 per kilogram, and curry chicken at Rs. 1,300 per kilogram.
