Two individuals have been convicted of breaking into President Ranil Wickremesinghe's home and stealing items.
On July 9, 2022, a person from Embillawatta Road, Boralasgamuwa, took a model sailing ship from the President's residence.
He pleaded guilty and were sentenced today (01). His 6-month prison term has been suspended for 5 years.
Similarly, on the same day, another individual from Abeyratne Mawatha, Boralasgamuwa, stole a metal jackfruit from the President's home.
He received a one-year prison sentence suspended for 5 years along with a Rs 1,500 fine.
Failure to pay the fine will result in one month of imprisonment.
