Released at 03:30 p.m. today (February 29), the advisory remains in effect until tomorrow evening (March 01).
The department cautioned that the heat index, which reflects the temperature perceived by the human body, is anticipated to escalate to a 'Caution' level in several areas across the mentioned regions.
At this intensity of heat, individuals may experience fatigue with prolonged exposure and activity, potentially leading to heat cramps if physical exertion persists.
In response, the public is strongly urged to prioritize hydration, seek shelter in shaded areas frequently, and curtail strenuous outdoor engagements. Moreover, citizens are encouraged to monitor the well-being of elderly and infirm individuals, never leaving children unattended in parked vehicles, and opt for lightweight, preferably white or light-colored attire.
