Lakshman Tillakaratne, a 44-year-old Sri Lankan resident of Rajangana and father of two, sustained serious injuries after being shot while working as a driver in Kuwait.

Tillakaratne, who has been employed in Kuwait for approximately 8 years, primarily worked as a delivery driver for food orders. The incident occurred while he was delivering an order placed on January 10, reportedly shot by the concerned customer due to a perceived delay in delivery.

The victim suffered severe abdominal injuries, requiring 40 stitches. Following the shooting, Tillakaratne managed to return to his vehicle, stopped midway, and contacted his Indian friend to inform him of the incident before seeking medical attention.

Tillakaratne, a father to two daughters aged 13 and 10, is now demanding justice and requests repatriation to Sri Lanka for further medical treatment and recovery.
