A 32-year-old manager of a tourist hotel in Ella tragically lost his life after falling down a precipice while on a hiking expedition on Rawana Ella mountain yesterday afternoon.
He was pronounced dead upon admission to the Wellawaya Hospital.
The victim had embarked on the hike with a friend, and during the descent of the mountain, he slipped off a rock and plummeted down a 100-foot precipice.
The deceased hailed from Moragolla, Beruwala, and leaves behind a 10-year-old child.
