A young Assistant Lecturer from Colombo University, Lakmini Bogamuwa (24), tragically lost her life after being struck by a lorry at Wickremesnghe Pura Junction in Battaramulla.
She was on her way to the university when the accident occurred.
Bogamuwa, a resident of Wickremesinha Pura, was rushed to Colombo National Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested over the accident.
