In a recent update, the Ministry of Education, led by Minister Susil Premajayantha, has unveiled the anticipated timelines for key state examinations and the academic term schedule for schools in the year 2025.
According to the announcement:
1. The GCE (Ordinary Level) examinations for the year 2023 are slated to take place between May and June of this year. This critical examination serves as a pivotal milestone for students completing their secondary education.
2. Subsequently, the GCE (Advanced Level) examinations for the year 2024 are scheduled to occur in December of the same year. The Advanced Level examinations are a significant benchmark for students aspiring to pursue higher education and specialized fields.
In addition to the examination schedules, the Ministry has outlined the tentative academic term framework for schools in 2025:
1. The academic year for 2025 will commence with the first term of schools scheduled to begin on January 2nd, 2025. This marks the initiation of another educational cycle, offering students and educators a fresh start to engage in learning and growth.
