At least six individuals sustained injuries following a collision between a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) passenger bus and a lorry carrying Army personnel in the Kokavil area of Kilinochchi.
Police said the incident occurred when the SLTB bus, traveling from Thunukkai, Mullaitivu to Jaffna, collided with the lorry en route from Mankulam to Kilinochchi.
The collision resulted in the lorry overturning, causing injuries to four army personnel onboard. Additionally, the bus driver and a female passenger were also injured in the accident.
All the injured were admitted to Kilinochchi Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said that their conditions are stable and not critical.
Following the incident, police have arrested the bus driver.
