Two persons have been killed in two separate shootings in Negombo and Puttalam this evening, police said.
They said an individual was killed in a shooting at Galkanda Junction, Negombo.
Two men arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire at the victim, and fled.
Meanwhile, a shooting has taken place in Mahakumbukkadala, Sembukuliya area.
The person injured in the shooting was admitted to Puttalam Hospital and then transferred to Colombo National Hospital.
Police said that the injured person later succumbed to injuries.
It was reported that the shooting was due to a land dispute.
The suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
