Police officers are set to receive increased allowances starting next week, Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya announced.
The enhanced food, travel, and accommodation allowances outlined in the 2024 budget will be disbursed, with half of the raised amount to be paid upfront.
Junior officers, for instance, will see their Rs. 17,000 allowance boosted by Rs. 11,800, with 50% of the increase to be provided immediately, the Minister said.
