Furthermore, Nissanka's exceptional performance marked Sri Lanka's inaugural ODI double century.
Nissanka's remarkable innings, characterized by eight sixes and an impressive 20 boundaries, culminated in an unbeaten score of 210 runs. His extraordinary contribution accounted for more than half of Sri Lanka's total runs, as they concluded their innings at 381 for 3 after the allotted 50 overs.
Despite commendable efforts from Avishka Fernando, who amassed 88 runs, and Sadeera Samarawickrama, Nissanka's standout performance overshadowed all other contributions. By achieving the rare feat of a double century in ODIs, Nissanka joined an elite group of only ten batsmen in cricketing history to accomplish such a milestone.
