The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a 46-year-old suspect in connection with the incident of setting fire to the house of President Ranil Wickremesinghe on 09.07.2022.
The suspect, Jayasekara Mudianselage Wimalaratne, a resident of Boralasgamuwa, who conducts English tuition classes at homes.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Fort Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
Earlier, the CID arrested several suspects in connection with the torching of President Wickremesinghe’s private residence in Colombo.
