Six hotel and shopkeepers in Hatton city has been charged in Hatton District and Magistrate's Court for selling food unsuitable for human consumption.
Public Health Inspector at Hatton Dik Oya Municipal Council said that public inspectors conducted thorough inspections of hotels and shops in Hatton city.
During these inspections, two hotel owners were found to be selling food unfit for human consumption, while four shop owners were selling junk food. Legal action has been initiated against them.
Furthermore, Hatton Dik Oya Municipal Council Secretary D. P. Balakrishnan said that these inspections were carried out on the instructions of Municipal Council.
He assured that future inspections of hotels and shops in the city will also be conducted.
