Litro Gas Lanka declared its decision to refrain from adjusting the prices of domestic LP gas cylinders throughout the month of February. The announcement was made by Litro Chairman, Muditha Peiris, during a specially convened media briefing on February 2.
Chairman Peiris emphasized that this decision was made considering the prevailing financial challenges faced by the public. Despite the global market indicating a need for an increase in domestic gas cylinder prices, Litro Gas Lanka has chosen not to pass the full extent of the burden to the consumers.
Acknowledging the ideal scenario of aligning domestic prices with international market trends, Mr. Peiris outlined the company's commitment to absorbing a significant portion of the incurred losses by maintaining the current rates.
Following the price adjustment implemented in January, the current rates for Litro Gas stand as follows:
- 12.5kg cylinder: Rs. 4,250
- 5kg cylinder: Rs. 1,707
- 2.3kg cylinder: Rs. 795
