The warning mentioned in the flood warning message No. 01 issued for the Aththanagalu Oya basin on 22nd November 2023 at 07.00 pm will be extended for the next 24 hours
A considerable rainfall over 100 mm has been occurred in most of Upstream catchment area of Aththanagalu Oya Basin. By analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water levels of Hydrological Stations in Aththanagalu Oya, there is a possibility of occurring a flood situation some of lowline areas of Aththanagalu Oya and Uruwal Oya valleys situated in Diwulapitiya, Mirigama, Attanagalla, Mahara, Gampaha, Minuwangoda, Ja-ela, Katana and Wattala D/S Divisions within next 3 to 24 hours. It is requested to pay high attention in this regards by the residents in those area and vehicle drivers running through those areas. Disaster Management Authorities are requested to take adequate precautions in this regards.
