A further development of the prevailing rain conditions across the island is expected today.
Rain or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island after around 1.00 pm.
Some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-West, North-Central and Uva provinces received mm. Heavy rains of around 100 may occur.
Some places in northern and eastern provinces may also experience rain in the morning.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the danger caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.

Showers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other sea areas around the Island particularly during the afternoon or night. |
Winds: |
Winds will be Easterly or variable in direction over the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. |
State of Sea: |
The sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. |
