Parliamentary sessions were adjourned for a few minutes this morning by the Speaker due to a tense situation.
Government MPs initiated protests inside the chamber as Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa raised a question under 27/2 regarding the Supreme Court verdict on the economic crisis in the country.
The vote on the second reading of the budget for 2024 is scheduled to be held this afternoon.
