Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala who was appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Health assumed duties today (20).
Dr. Mahipala previously served as the Director General of Health Services. He was also appointed WHO Representative in Pakistan in April 2019.
The Secretary post fell vacant following the retirement of Janaka Sri Chandragupta.
