President Ranil Wickremesinghe has given authorization for the Cabinet sub-committee to address the ongoing Sri Lankan cricket issue with the International Cricket Council (ICC), according to Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

During a parliamentary session on November 17, Wijesekera stated that the ministerial sub-committee has formally requested a meeting with ICC officials.

In response to the escalating cricket controversy, President Wickremesinghe established a Cabinet sub-committee on November 6.

The committee's purpose is to investigate the gazette notification issued by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe, which appointed an Interim Committee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and suspended the existing cricket governing body.

Minister Ali Sabry leads the sub-committee, which also includes Ministers Tiran Alles, Manusha Nanayakkara, and Kanchana Wijesekera.
