Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has filled a motion before the Appeal Court requesting the revocation of its previously issued interim order against the Sri Lanka Cricket interim committee, which was appointed by the Sports Minister himself.

This move comes in response to the interim order issued by the Court of Appeal on November 7, which suspended the operation of the gazette notification issued by the Sports Minister, appointing an interim committee to oversee Sri Lanka Cricket.

The interim order is set to remain in effect until November 16.

The Court of Appeal's decision to issue the interim order was in response to a writ petition filed by Shammi Silva, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket. The two-judge bench, consisting of Justices Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Chamath Morais, had deemed it necessary to temporarily halt the implementation of the Sports Minister's gazette notification.
