Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong recently expressed China's interest in investing in the northern region during his second visit to the province.
The ambassador visited various areas in Jaffna, Vavunia, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, and Mannar to donate 5,000 boxes of dry rations worth Rs. 37.5 million under the Faxian Charity Project.
These donations were distributed to needy families in the region through ten ceremonies held at district secretariats, Buddhist temples, Hindu Kovils, and churches, benefiting a significant number of local residents. The Chinese embassy highlighted that Chinese enterprises are eager to invest in the north, indicating a potential boost to the region's development.
