Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe disclosed that President Ranil Wickremesinghe had requested him to abolish the interim committee during their meeting after a Cabinet session.
Minister Ranasinghe added that the President had expressed his intention to assume responsibility for sports matters. "Then, I told him to remove me from the Cabinet," he added.
"Sri Lanka Cricket is run by robbers. Therefore, I will not abolish the interim commitee. The decision of the judiciary to issue a stay order against the interim committee is to do with a conflict of interest," he said.
