The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recently obtained a statement from Janaka Sri Chandragupta, the Secretary to the Ministry of Health. This development follows an alleged incident involving the importation of substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the country.

The investigation primarily focuses on Isolez Biotech, a company whose owner was recently arrested and subsequently remanded until November 15. The individual faces serious charges for supplying low-quality Human Immunoglobulin to the Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health.

Furthermore, the CID also questioned the Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service as part of their ongoing inquiries.

This case has raised concerns among both authorities and the general public, as the utilization of inferior medical products can pose significant risks to the well-being and safety of patients.
