The All-Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association has decided to enhance the prices of multiple food items including Kottu and fried rice starting from midnight yesterday (04).
The association’s President Harshana Rukshan disclosed this decision at a press briefing recently.
He specified that this step was taken considering the recent price hikes of various goods such as sugar, rice, vegetables, onions, and chicken. According to the new prices, the cost of a packet of rice and curry will be raised by Rs. 20 and a packet of Kottu and fried rice by Rs. 20.
Furthermore, the association has stated that the price of a cup of milk tea will be augmented by Rs. 10 and a cup of plain tea by Rs. 5. This decision may cause a financial pinch to the pockets of the customers who prefer dining in restaurants and hotels amidst the rising costs of living in the country.
