The Finance Ministry has announced an increase in the special commodity levy on sugar.
In a recent gazette notification, it was stated that the tax on one kilogram of sugar will be raised from 25 cents to Rs. 50.
The revised levy will be in effect for one year, starting from tonight until November 2, 2024.
