Showers or thundershowers can be expected in parts of many provinces of the island after 01:00 p.m, the Department of Meteorology forecast.
Fairly heavy showers of about 50 mm can occur at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Matara districts.
The department also said misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the morning.
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo.
