In addition, a number of wild elephants have succumbed to different diseases, further adding to the distressing statistics.
It is worth noting that the country is home to approximately 6,000 elephants, as stated by the department.
However, the loss of their natural habitat due to human activities has contributed to an alarming rise in elephant attacks, posing a significant threat to both human safety and the well-being of these magnificent animals.
