The Department of Meteorology has warned that heavy showers, measuring approximately 75mm, are possible in certain areas of central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur in most parts of the country during the morning, including in western, southern and eastern provinces.
Some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces might experience misty conditions.
Thus, members of the public are advised to take precautionary measures to prevent damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
In addition, strong gusty winds and rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
