We have focused largely on attacks in Gaza today - but, of course, this conflict was started when Hamas militants crossed into Israel from Gaza to launch a devastating assault.
Eleven days on, the uncle of two teenage girls - one killed by Hamas and the other being held hostage - has spoken about the events of the Be'eri kibbutz massacre in which his nieces were caught up.
Yahel Sharabi, 13, was confirmed dead after the attack and Noiya Sharabi, 16, is still missing with her father.
The girls lived in the kibbutz with their mother Lianne, who was also killed during the massacre on 7 October.
Raz Matalon, their uncle, said that after the events of that day he asked his friend, a soldier, to visit the scene.
"What we saw was gunshots on the shelter... and we saw two big blood stains on the floor," he told Sky News' Anna Botting.
As we were filming, the family had to run to their shelter, underlining the daily impact on Israelis beyond their grief.

Israel to present hospital explosion evidence to UN Security Council today
Israel will present its evidence on the al Alhi hospital explosion at the UN Security Council meeting today, according to its foreign minister.
In a video message posted to X, Eli Cohen said it has "concrete evidence" Israel did not attack the hospital.
The Security Council is meeting at its New York HQ today to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
