The family of Anula Jayathilake, the Sri Lankan woman who tragically lost her life as confirmed by Israeli authorities, will receive compensation equivalent to that granted to an Israeli citizen, according to Sri Lanka's Foreign Employment Bureau (FEB).
Gamini Senerath Yapa, the Spokesman for the FEB, has verified that Ms. Jayathilake will be duly compensated as an Israeli citizen since she possessed a valid work permit and visa, and had been working for a single employer.
"We have received confirmation from Israel's Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) regarding this matter.
Besides, we have been in discussions with the Hamas group to obtain any relevant information about foreigners currently under their custody. We are hopeful to receive updates on Mr. Yatawara Bandara, who has been missing for several days," stated the FEB Spokesman.
The FEB is actively working to ensure that the family of Anula Jayathilake receives the necessary support during this difficult time. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
