The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IM Japan Institute of Japan to facilitate the recruitment of more special skills workers from Sri Lanka to Japan.
This partnership aims to provide employment opportunities for skilled youth in caregiving, food processing, and agriculture.
Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment, Manusha Nanayakkara, expressed his delight in announcing the MoU signing, emphasizing the significance of this collaboration. He encouraged Sri Lankan youth who have passed the fourth stage of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT/JFT N4) and the SSW Skill Test to apply for these job opportunities.
Selected individuals will be offered a 5-year work contract. Minister Nanayakkara requested that the Japanese officials simplify the examination system for recruitment under the special skills worker program, to which they responded positively. He also urged them to establish a special training center in Sri Lanka to prepare candidates for Japanese jobs.
