Australia and Sri Lanka have recently renewed their agreement on sports cooperation.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Australia's Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tim Watts, and Sri Lanka's Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Roshan Ranasinghe.

This agreement aims to strengthen the longstanding sporting ties between the two countries. The MoU will facilitate collaboration in various areas, including coach education, training, sports science and medicine, gender equality in sports, and anti-corruption and anti-doping practices.

Assistant Minister Watts also had the opportunity to showcase his cricket skills by playing with members of Sri Lanka's national women's and men's teams.

Besides, he visited the Sri Lanka Cricket Museum, where he discussed Australia's shared sporting history with Sri Lankan cricketing legend Aravinda de Silva and representatives of Sri Lanka Cricket.
