The National Police Commission has directed three Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to temporarily assume the roles of Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs).
These appointments, effective from 27th September 2023, have been made under Section 135 of Chapter IX of the Public Service Commission.
The appointed SSPs are as follows:
1. SSP S.D.J Wijesekera of the Police Narcotics Bureau
2. SSP A. S. P. C Wedamulla from the Badulla division
3. SSP G.H Marapana from the Colombo South Division
