In the midst of the ongoing violent clashes between Israel and Palestine, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has reported that one Sri Lankan national has been injured, while another remains missing.
According to the Sri Lankan Embassy, the injured individual was employed at a tourist hotel in the region. It is estimated that there are approximately 8000 Sri Lankans currently residing in Israel, although the majority are located outside of the conflict-affected southern region.
Expressing concern over the missing Sri Lankan, the embassy has stated that if any information regarding the individual's whereabouts cannot be obtained, his details will be shared with the Red Cross for further assistance.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured that the Sri Lankan embassies in both Israel and Palestine are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant coordination with Sri Lankans residing in the conflict-affected areas.
As the clashes between Israel and Palestine continue, the safety and well-being of Sri Lankan nationals in the region remain a top priority for the Sri Lankan authorities.
