The total workers' remittances for the period of January to September 2023 reached USD 4,345.1 million, which is a significant increase of 68.8% compared to the same period in 2022.
However, in September 2023, Sri Lanka saw a slight decrease in workers' remittances compared to the previous month.
Official data shows that the remittances in September amounted to USD 482.4 million, while in August 2023, the inflows reached USD 499.2 million.
