A 27-year-old woman named "Ima" from Wattala has been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) for the possession of Ice drugs, and her involvement in recent shootings in the Negombo and Sandunumala areas has been uncovered.
Ima is suspected of aiding in the transportation of firearms used in the shootings that occurred in the Dunumala area on July 14, 2023, and in Negombo on August 12, 2023.
Allegedly, she operated under the guidance of organized criminal 'Kalana,' who is currently evading authorities in Dubai. 'Kalana' is known to be an associate of the arrested gangster 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa.'
The arrest of Ima took place during a raid conducted by the Organized Crime Unit of the STF in Ragama. During the operation, STF officers confiscated 05 grams of ice and a mobile phone from her possession. Following her arrest, she was transferred to the Ragama Police Station for further investigation.
