Afghanistan secured their spot in the semifinals by defeating Sri Lanka by 8 runs in the men's cricket quarterfinal at the Asian Games. 

Afghanistan posted a total of 116 runs in 18 overs and 3 balls before being bowled out, with Noor Ali Sadran leading the charge with 51 runs off 52 balls. 

On the bowling front, Nuwan Thushara starred for Sri Lanka, claiming 4 wickets in just 3 overs.

In pursuit of the target, Sri Lanka struggled and were all out for 108 runs. Captain Sahan Arachchi contributed 22 runs to the team's total, while Vijayakanth Vyaskanth added 14 runs.
