The Minister of Sports, Roshan Ranasinghe, has recently established a three-member International Sports Coordination Committee for Cricket.
The main objective of this committee is to effectively monitor, communicate, and coordinate with both international and national cricket councils. The aim is to ensure the steady development, independence, and transparency of cricket in Sri Lanka.
The committee comprises three distinguished individuals: Sidath Wettimuny, a former Sri Lankan cricketer, Upali Dharmadasa, the former President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), and Rakitha Rajapakshe, a Legal Counsel and the son of Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.
The primary responsibilities of this committee involve closely monitoring the activities of international and national cricket councils, federations, and institutes.
