The misplacement was revealed when an officer arrived to assume duties and found the firearms missing from the security box.
Subsequently, higher-ranking officials were notified of the situation.
Investigations conducted thus far have revealed that there is no record in the relevant logbooks indicating that the missing firearm was removed by any officer.
