A shocking incident of alleged child sexual abuse has led to the arrest of a monk associated with the Bogaswewa Raja Maha Viharaya. 

The Ehetuwewa Police took swift action after receiving information from the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) regarding the serious accusations.

According to reports, the accused monk is believed to have subjected a 13-year-old boy, who was residing at the temple, to acts of sexual abuse. The NCPA promptly alerted the Ehetuwewa Police, who launched a thorough investigation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

To ensure the well-being of the victimized child, he is currently undergoing medical examinations at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. Authorities are committed to pursuing justice in this distressing case, demonstrating their dedication to protecting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
